The trip will be from Wednesday, March 28,2017 through Sunday, April 2, 2017. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on the national stage, proudly representing our school and our state.
A performance of this caliber is very exciting for the entire Carbondale Terrier Music program and especially for our students. To learn more about the Spring 2017 President's Cup Trip, check out our President's Cup page.

IHSA Returns for 2017
The Carbondale Terrier Music program offered 108 individual, duet, and group performances at the IHSA Solo & Ensemble contest on March 4, 2017. Of these, 88 were ranked Division 1! Our overall performance for this competition was 2nd place; this puts us solidly in 3rd place for the State IHSA rankings, with IHSA Band contest still ahead of us.
Special Congratulations to the 8 students whose performances were ranked Best-in-Day: Kylie Measimer (Female Voice), Emma Byrd (B-Flat Clarinet), Ester Hughes (Treble Ensemble), Alexis Jones (Treble Ensemble), Lucas Feather (E-Flat Alto Saxophone), Will Meador (Tuba), Julian Springer (Marimba), and especially Samara Steinbock who got two awards (Guitar Solo and Piano).
Will Meador made the IHSA All Academic Team this year! To qualify, one needs to possess a minimum 3.50 grade point average on 4.0 scale after their 7th semester, have participated in at least two IHSA sponsored sports or activities during each of the last two years and demonstrated outstanding citizenship. Will qualified with his outstanding performances as a musician and wrestler. Congratulations!
2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
The CTM program and the Band Boosters congratulate Kate Forer on her Gold Medal Portfolio Award from the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Kate's art will be publically displayed in New York City this summer. In addition, the prize includes a $10,000 scholarship.
